Today was to be the last sailing of the MV Hebridean Isles to Coll and Tiree before the MV Clansman takes over the route until the end of December. She departed on time from Oban and managed into Coll. Departing Coll twenty minutes late she arrived off Tiree at the height of some nasty squalls. Winds were forecast to gust up to 50mph. She came into Gott Bay twice and stood off the pier but the captain chose not to attempt to come alongside the pier. Those waiting on the pier had to watch the boat return to Oban, while those on the boat will have spent nine and half hours on the storm tosssed boat getting nowhere.
The B&Bs in Oban will be busy tonight. It is as well that we do not require anything from the shop today or tomorrow!
This is the reality of “Life on Tiree” I find it reassuring to know that in life’s uncertainties God is faithful. He can be completely relied upon.
