With the ferry cancelled because of the high winds and yet waking up to a sunny morning, we determined to visit Crossapol beach for photographic evidence of damage to the dune systems. We are so grateful for the advice given to us by a long time resident of Tiree. “Watch your car doors in high winds.” Walking along the beach, it felt like a battle with the wind gusting over 50mph, but it was so exilirating. We could even get up closer to the bird population than for normal. The sun shone over the bay, but Ben Hynish was overcast. A walk on the wild side in so many ways.
