No! The pier at Gott Bay has not featured in the latest BBC Alba production, rather it has been a scene of great activity this summer. In addition to the daily arrival and departure of the ferry a great deal of work has been taking place. The old CalMac building has been demolished and in its place is a much smaller storeroom set in a rocky landscape. (I find myself wondering how long it will be before one of the employees sprains an ankle or worse still breaks a leg.) The old lights on the pier and it’s approach have been removed and replaced by new ones. The old fender at the head of the pier is in the process of being replaced and this past week the concrete decking was patched. Ready! Radio! Ropes! Ramp!
