Today, Calmac’s “Lord of the Isles’ made her first visit to Tiree after her annual overhaul at Greenock. Sadly, the first of December 2014 has been characterised by dark grey skies and rain that damped the occasion. Thankfully, with ‘LOTI’ back in service, we now have five sailings a week – weather permitting. Today’s sailing was lightly loaded, but nevertheless carried an interesting mix of traffic. Not unusually for a Monday morning, the first vehicle to cross Loti’s ramp onto the linkspan was the refuse lorry from Coll. And did we manage to photograph the latest vehicle to join the fleet of Mackinnon Haulage (Isle of Tiree)?
