Tiree’s Threesome

Hats Off To Ben Moore
Hat’s Off To Ben Moore

Having our son visit over Christmas and New Year was a reminder of three things that often grab our attention, especially in the winter months, the weather, the status of the ferry and ‘comings and goings’.

Today the weather has been almost idyllic with sunshine and hardly a breath of wind. The ferry is running over 5 hours late, because it was storm bound in Lochboisdale (South Uist) and was unable to make the crossing to Oban yesterday. As for coming and goings, our neighbour arrived safely on the plane, in which our son then departed for Glasgow and the South.

“Stunning flight from Tiree to Glasgow” From our own correspondent!

With Christmas Day like a distant memory and this the 3rd day in the New Year it really does feel like, “Back to auld clathes and purridge.”  Although this was our second Christmas on the island we never cease to be amazed that we live here.

Hardly a day goes by without a walk to the pier and the old harbour. Weather permitting!
