On a day of glorious sunshine you are spoilt for choice because there are just so many beaches to choose from. Although sometimes it is impossible to avoid returning on the road you set out on, I much prefer to return by a different route. This can be challenging on an island no longer than 11 miles and at its maximum width four or five miles, but in places no more than a mile wide. Here are views of three magnificent beaches caught in today’s Spring Sunshine: Crossapol, Balephetrish and Gott Bay.
Crossapol bathed in sunshine. Tempting, if only it were a touch warmer! Double click for a slideshow of larger pictures.
Balephetrish lies on the north coast directly facing the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is suffering from erosion as a consequence of increasingly stormy winter weather. Double click for a slideshow of larger pictures.
Gott Bay towards the east end of the island. Double click for a slideshow of larger pictures.
