For the duration of the Tiree Music Festival the island’s population soars from around 650 to more than 2000. The church on Tiree is called to witness to its Lord and Master and it is a joy and a privilege to be invited to share in the festival. Our primary involvement was to be involved in the Sunday Special (Church Service) on site and the Mainly Music sessions. However, as things turned out, as part of the community, we became involved in helping transport campers to safe accommodation late on Friday afternoon. Like many others we opened our home to three of the campers – three very considerate young ladies. Others were housed in the High School, Old Crofters Shed, Heylipol Church, Business Centre, Airport Lounge and other locations. It was so good that on Saturday and Sunday the weather dramatically improved and for much of the time the sun shone. On Sunday we were able to share that the One who took fish and bread and hungry people fed (Thousands Miraculously Fed) can meet the very deepest needs of our lives. He said, “I Am the Bread of Life” and in so doing promises to meet the very deepest needs of our lives.
