The Big Question

“Did the boat get in?”
The Clansman left Oban on time,
she did not make her first call at Coll,
but did she manage to berth at Tiree?
One passenger sent a message from on board:
“Words directly from The Clansman!
It’s a bit bouncy and there’s loads of spray.”
“Well! Did the boat get in?”
The answer is “Yes!”

With the wind gusting and laden with hail showers
the Clansman came out of the murk of the Passage of Tiree
and prepared to berth by turning through more than 360 degrees.
Gradually the Clansman edged into towards the pier
as she employed her powerful thrusters.

With great skill the skipper brought the Clansman alongside.
In addition to the bow and stern ropes
a rope was thrown from the linkspan.

Mission completed the MV Clansman put to sea.
Thankful Marine Traffic confirms the vessel berthed at Coll.

“What’s that big ship?”
It’s the RFA 390 Wave Ruler.
She proves that Tiree is the place to visit.
Even in the wildest of weather.
