Thankful

Stepping out this morning in order to meet the ferry at the pier I was conscious that it was much colder. There was very little wind, but the air itself was decidedly nippy. The view across the Passage of Tiree was of a snow capped Ben More on the Isle of Mull.

I was so thankful that in spite of the chill in the air, our roads are snow and ice free. Although the fields and the machair may be wet, our homes are dry. Here on the island we have so much to be give God thanks for, even as our hearts go out to those whose homes are flooded.

Throughout daylight hours Tiree has sat astride two weather systems. To the south it was grey and cloudy, while to the north it was bright and sunny.
