Yesterday Tiree was the sunniest place in Strathclyde.
Yesterday Tiree was the Sunniest place in the UK
An official 11.7 hours of sunshine.
Well! The repeat performance was not the hours of sunshine.
The forecast included sunshine, but only for 9.5 hours.
In contrast with yesterday it didn’t feel like that.
The wind was directly from the Artic.
It was a bitingly cold northerly.
On a Wednesday the Oban-Coll-Tiree ferry goes out to Barra.
Then in the evening it returns to Oban via Tiree and Coll.
Today unusually we had a repeat performance.
Down to the failure of the MV Isle of Lewis.
Sadly she is in the ship hospital.

Yesterday the Clansman arrived back very late in Oban.
Strictly speaking it was after midnight.
The crew needed “rest time’’.
The sailing today was thus to the Wednesday timetable.
It was much later than the normal timings for a Friday.
The approach to the pier seemed strange.
A different skipper and a north wind.
To some it appeared the Clansman was sitting out in the bay.
She was in fact positioning herself across the roundhead.
At first some distance from the pier itself.
Then she pushed in with her thrusters.
The Airforce on exercise saluted the Clansman with a flypast.
Drawing away from the pier took some time.
The performance was run in reverse.
When the Clansman arrived back from Barra.
The skipper gave us a repeat performance.
And some unusual angles.
The sad news is that the MV Isle of Lewis is still in the sick bay.
CalMac have issued a revised timetable for next week.
