Masterpiece

The rainbow is an exciting meteorological phenomenon.
It has been rightly said that it is ‘one of nature’s most splendid masterpieces’.
While it is helpful to understand how it is formed, it is not essential to admire its beauty.

The urgent cry went up from the business hub of our home – the kitchen.

.A rainbow is an excellent demonstration of the dispersion of light.
‘It is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light
in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light
appearing in the sky.’

An excellent explanation of how a rainbow is formed
can be found in the physics classroom.

Tiree is an excellent place to view this exciting meteorological phenomenon.
For many the rainbow has become a symbol of hope.
It is a word of promise.

God says,
I have placed my rainbow in the clouds.
It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.
When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds,
and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures.
Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life.
Genesis 9:13-15 [NLT]
