Dawn Awakens

As daylight hours shorten dawn comes later.
No longer do you have to rise before 4:00 to witness sunrise.
Before the sun rose above the Scarinish Headland on Tiree dawn awakened.

How thankful we are to have windows that face north, south and west.
At this time of the year the sunrise streams in our south facing windows.
The awakening of the dawn is often our gentle alarm call in the morning.

Early this morning the view south hinted at two sets of the Paps of Jura.
To the west of Jura some clouds were impersonating the famous paps.
It was indeed a feast for the eyes and something to appreciate.

Although throughout the day,
given the right weather conditions,
the Paps of Jura are visible from our south facing windows
they are best viewed when dawn awakens and when the sun sinks at twilight.

As the sun slowly rose the clouds to the south became a pillar of fire.
A pillar of fire that passed over the Paps of Jura.
Soon red would give way to blue sky.

What a privilege to be called to live on an island with such views.
How it fills your inmost being with warm gratitude.
How it draws you out in praise to God.

Sit back, relax, and be refreshed as dawn awakens.
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord’s name isto be praised.
